Mangaluru, Aug 24: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel demanded resignation of chief minister Siddaramaiah and minister for Bengaluru development and town planning K J George over the destruction of documents and evidences relating to the suicide committed by DySP M K Ganapati.
Addressing media here on Thursday August 24, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “K J George was forced to resign from the cabinet in connection with the suicide of DySP M K Ganapati. After the criminal investigation department (CID) cleared George of having any role in Ganapati’s suicide, Siddaramaiah reinstated him as minister for Bengaluru development and town planning. DySP Ganapati’s suicide was a national news, After a TV channel exposed the destruction of evidences, the Ganapati issue has become a national issue again.
“Reports say that 7091 text files, 31 PPT files, 52 messages in Ganapati’s cell phone. 152 names of MLAs, ministers and others, 199 files which were in a 16 GB pen drive, 185 files found in 8 GB pen drive and 910 MS excel files are among the evidences destroyed. Finger prints were not collected before bringing the body of Ganapati down from the ceiling fan. Bullet marks found on the body and other observations have never been made public in the past. One of the witnesses revealed that he was made to sign blank sheet of paper”, he added.
“Siddaramaiah is protecting K J George, which indicates that there is some foul play. Both K J George and Siddaramaiah need to resign and order further probe in to this case. Government has miserably failed in every section," Nalin concluded.
District BJP President Sanjeev Matandur and Monappa Bhandary were present.
