Madikeri, Aut 22: Kodagu district in-charge minister, M R Seetharam, revealed that former district Congress president and chairman of Karntaka State Silk Board, T P Ramesh, will soon be suspended from the party. Ramesh faces the allegation of misbehaving with MLC, Veena Achaiah, during the district level Independence Day programme, and this scene was captured by cameras and widely cirulated in the media and social websites.
Seetharam was speaking to media persons at Vidhan Soudha on Tuesday August 21. He said that he had already spoken to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr G Parameshwara, and working president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, on the issue of initiating disciplinary steps by the party against Ramesh.
He confirmed that he was present at the said programme, adding that the behaviour of Ramesh cannot be justified at any cost. He therefore reasoned that Ramesh cannot go unpunished.
"Ramesh should have tendered his resignation from his position as chairman of Silk Board in the backdrop of he said incident. Once he is suspended from the party, government will take steps to unseat him from this position," he stated.
