New Delhi, May 19: A teenaged boy, working in a boutique, was stripped and paraded naked in South-West Delhi allegedly by the shopowner claiming that he had stolen a garment and sold it to a customer.
The boy, whose head was tonsured, was paraded naked with a board “I am a thief” and a garland of shoes on his neck on Friday in Sector 6 of Dwarka.
Akash (13), a government school student trying to earn some money during his vacation for the past two months, was accused by the shopowner Pinki of stealing a garment.
The victim’s mother alleged that Pinki snatched her son’s cellphone and paraded him naked. According to the family of the boy, another worker Deepak had sold a suit to a customer without the knowledge of Pinki and did not account the money.
He also allegedly gave Rs 250 to Akash for not informing about it. The shopowner, who found a suit missing, asked Ashok about it who pleaded ignorance.
Then Pinki, along with another worker, allegedly beat up the boy, tonsured his head and paraded him naked with a garland of shoes around his neck in the market, police sources said.
