Udupi, Aug 20: “Let chief minister Siddaramaiah who speaks against Rajya Sabha member Amit Shah who asked account of funds released by the union government say what happened to the money mentioned in the budgets presented by him in the last two years,” challenged MP Shobha Karandlaje.
She was speaking after inaugurating Udupi district executive meet held at Uchila Mahalaxmi auditorium on Saturday, August 19.
“Congress leaders are re-polishing and selling the rice and wheat bought by the union government to the nearby state at higher prices. These items are provided to the state at low prices. There is no protection for officials here. Ministers are not working. Mafia is putting pressure on officials. Siddaramaiah is governing in the midst of corruption and sand mafia,” Shobha said.
“When UPA government was at the centre, they did not help BJP government in the state. But the state now has received enough funds during BJP rule at the centre. There should be a movement in every village to ask about the amount received in the district from district in-charge minister and elected representatives during four and a half years of Congress rule,” she demanded.
“Before giving a notice to BJP leaders creating false cases, let them give a notice for case registered by ACB about expensive wrist watch received by the chief minister. The government does not know from where the government gets food for Indira canteens. Those who received tender are supplying stale food,” she said.
“The BJP national president will visit the state at the end of September or first week of October. A programme of two lac bikes proceeding to Bengaluru from all over the state during that time is scheduled. Campaigns for organizing the party in the district and state should be continuous. We should show that we are not behind in strengthening the party in this district. BJP should win all the Vidhana Sabha seats in the district,” she concluded.
Vidhana Sabha opposition party chief whip V Sunil Kumar, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, former MP K Jayaprakash Hegde, former MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, zilla panchayat president Dinakar Babu, leaders Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, K Udayakumar Shetty, Prakash Shetty Paddaibettu, Kuthyaru Navin Shetty, K Suresh Nayak and Yashpal Suvarna were present.
