Mangaluru, Aug 18: “Let Shobha Karandlaje donate her wealth to the schools owned by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat instead of begging people and collecting items from them. If she gives her wealth to the schools, it should be sufficient for many years to run the schools,” said district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai on Thursday, August 17.
He was speaking to media persons at district Congress office here.
“It is heard that Shobha owns a lot of wealth including properties. She was an ordinary woman when she entered politics. Why cannot she donate her wealth instead of begging from people?” Rai added.
“I came from a wealthy family and was rich enough before I entered politics. Let Shobha Karandlaje declare her wealth before entering into politics and now. I will do the same. If this information is made public, people will know the truth. I have lost a lot after I entered politics,” he said.
“MP Nalin Kumar Kateel tells me to provide free education at my school. I bought the land from my own money and constructed the school. I do not receive any government aid to run the school. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat got the land for his schools from state government during Congress regime. Those are aided schools,” Rai said.
Speaking on the ban on some organisations relating to the murder of Sharath Madiwala, Rai said that there are communal forces involved in the murders that took place in Bantwal taluk recently and efforts are on to identify those forces. “Action will be taken after the investigations are over in these cases.”
