Mangaluru, Aug 17: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje slammed the state government for quashing the endowment grant to Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat's schools.
Addressing mediapersons in city on Thursday August 17, she said, “Siddaramaiah is targeting Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and taking political revenge. The schools run by Bhat were receiving a grant of Rs 2.5 crore from Kollur temple which was being used for midday meals, uniforms and medicines,”
“Ninety per cent of the students studying at Bhat’s schools were from minorities, backward classes and Dalits. Now where is Siddaramaiah’s concept of ‘Ahinda’? Why did he withdraw aid to Kalladka and Punacha schools from Kollur temple? The chief minister’s uses ‘Ahinda’ only for his speeches,” she added.
“Members of BJP Mahila Morcha will spare a separate share of rice from today. They will donate it to Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat’s schools on every ‘Sankranthi’,” she stated.
Speaking on RSS worker Sharath Madiwala murder case she said, “I had told earlier that PFI and other anti-social associations were behind Sharath’s murder. But, the state government, especially ministers Ramanath Rai and U T Khader ignored my charges. Now with the arrest of the suspects, it is proved that what I said was right.”
The MP also demanded ban on organisations like PFI, KFD and SDPI and also said that ‘Love Jihad’ cases should be thoroughly investigated.
Later, Shobha Karandlaje inaugurated the rice collection campaign for Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat’s schools. She kick-started the campaign by collecting rice from president of BJP south constituency Vedavyas Kamath’s house. The MP then went to other houses as well.
