Mangaluru: IPS Harishekaran receives service award from American Consulate General

Mangaluru, Aug 17: Senior Police officer P Harishekaran, IPS has received prestigious service award from American Consulate General for detecting 16 gangs involved in human trafficking.

When Harishekaran served as additional police commissioner in Bengaluru, the special investigation team (SIT) headed by him had identified 16 gangs involved in the human trafficking and had acted against them. The American Consulate General has congratulated Harishekaran for his service when he was SIT chief especially in containing human trafficking.

Harishekaran recently was handed over the award by the American Consulate General.

Harishekaran was serving as IGP (Western Range) till Wednesday in Mangaluru. He stands transferred now to Bengaluru.
