Kundapur, Aug 16: BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde set in motion a protest march from Mabukula to Kundapur Mini Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday morning, Aug 16 opposing alleged irregularities regarding 94C, 94CC, sand and ration card problems.
MLC Kota Srinivasa Poojary speaking on the occasion criticized the alleged anti-people policies of the state government. He said that only a handful of title deeds were issued under 94C and 94CC during last protests against delay.
The protest rally progressed to Kundapur through NH66 later.
Former state minister and former MP K Jayaprakash Hegde said that government should understand the problems and take remedial measures. “RTC should be issued together with title deeds under 94C and 94 CC. Ration cards are issued recklessly and taken back later. Now they are saying that they will sell plane and train tickets in ration shops”, he said wryly.
“The four year long sand problem is not yet solved. There were discussions held in the presence of law minister and the leadership of then district in-charge minister about passing of a separate sand policy in the coast. But nobody has written down the decisions taken in that meeting. Law department is asking how they can make amendments in law if the concerned people do not send decisions to them. The district in-charge minister had said that sand will be provided from August 1. But while distributing it, sand was not given to those who opposed the government and went to the court. We may go to court once again opposing the unscientific distribution. The process by the government has done nothing other than fooling the people”, Hegde added.
