Mumbai, Aug 16: President of National Billava Maha Mandala (R), Jaya C Suvarna, who noted that Kavya Poojary was a sports person who had excelled at the national level, felt that it is but natural for the people to suspect foul play in her death which happened under mysterious circumstances. He said that he firmly backs an impartial, fair probe that leads to proper justice in the case.
Suvarna was addressing a press conference held at Billavara Bhavana at Santacruz here on Monday August 14. "Mohan Alva is a person who has been spearheading an educational institution of national repute. It is improper to disturb peace in the society as a whole and the community in particular by making use of this incident. I request everyone to conserve peace and make room for a fair and impartial probe into Kavya's death. We are writing to the central and state governments demanding detailed probe in the case. Only after the outcome of the probe is revealed, we will pool opinions of various organizations representing out community and take further steps as found necessary," he explained.
Jaya Suvarna said that he could not take a considered stand in the matter as he was down with health problems, although he was aware about this case earlier. "However, vice president of National Billava Maha Mandala (R) and executive member of Billawar Association Mumbai, Dr Rajashekhar R Kotian, had led a delegation to the residence of Kavya, held discussions with her parents, and shared their grief. I will also be visiting Kavya's residence soon and hold discussions with Mohan Alva. There are no two opinions about the fact that guilty should be punished. Our action plan will be directed to achieve this result," he stated.
President of Billava Association here, Nityanand D Kotian, speaking on the occasion, said that he has been given to understand that Alva is extending full cooperation for the investigation in the case and we believe that he will continue to fully cooperate with investigating agencies towards reaching to the bottom of the case.
Billava Chamber of Commerce and Industrie working president, N T Poojary, also demanded judicious and fair probe into the death of Kavya and said that everyone is seeking justice to the departed soul.
Former president of the association, L V Amin, veteran Billava statesman, Vasudev R Kotian, vice president of National Billava Maha Mandala, Dr Rajashekhar R Kotian, vice presidents of the association, Bhaskar V Bangera and Purushotham S Kotian, head of Yuvabhyudaya Samiti, Nilesh Poojary Palimar, N M Sanil, Chandrashekhar S Poojary, Jyoti K Suvarna, C T Salian, Harish Mulky and a large number of other leading personalities were present.
