Mangaluru, Aug 15: Three police officers from the state have been chosen for exemplary service medals given during the Independence Day by the President of India.
DySP Sudheer Hegde from Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Mangaluru, Kodagu superintendent of police (SP) A Rajendra Prasad and deputy commandant Ramesh from Home Guards of Dakshina Kannada are among the three recipients of this year’s President’s medal from Karnataka.
Sudheer M Hegde
Sudheer M Hegde is from Sirsi in Uttar Kannada district. He is from 1996 PSI batch. He started his career as sub-inspector in Kalaburagi. Later he worked in Davanagere, Yadagiri, Karwar and Sringeri police stations as inspector. He was promoted as DySP in 2016 and serves in ACB since then.
A Rajendra Prasad
A Rajendra Prasad came as SP of Kodagu district in 2016. He has been instrumental in maintaining law and order in the district which was going through disturbances in the past. He has also cracked many cases, putting a break on crime to a greater extent. Most importantly, he has created awareness among citizens and students regarding crime and communal disturbances to create a better atmosphere in the society.
Ramesh
Ramesh joined Home Guards in 1989. He served in places like Mangaluru, Udupi, Madikeri and Chikkamagaluru. Presently he is based in Mangaluru and serves Dakshina Kannada district with additional charge of Udupi district. He has received many awards in the past including from the state government.
