Bengaluru, Aug 14 (DHNS): The style of functioning of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, among others, is likely to figure in a meeting of the party national president Amit Shah with senior RSS?functionaries in Bengaluru on Monday.
Shah is scheduled to have a breakfast meeting with the leaders at the residence of an RSS functionary on Monday, the venue of which has been kept under wraps for security reasons.
Ever since he took over as the BJP chief, Shah has made it a tradition to interact and take feedback from the RSS functionaries on political scenario and the affairs of the jurisdictional state unit of the party in the states he has been visiting. As many as 25 RSS functionaries and Sangha leaders including V Nagaraj, Mukund, Thippeswamy, Sridharswamy, Mangesh Bhende are expected to attend the Monday’s meeting. According to party sources, several RSS functionaries are not happy with the style of functioning of Yeddyurappa. They have summoned him thrice since May last year after he took over as state chief and advised him to take seniors in the BJP into confidence before taking decisions related to the party, including appointments to various posts in the BJP.
The functionaries are also understood to be unhappy with the BJP national general secretary in-charge of Karnataka P Muralidhar Rao for not making much of an impact or ushering in discipline in the party despite completing nearly three years in the post. They sought to compare him with All India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Congress K C Venugopal, who could instill some amount of dynamism in the state unit after taking charge just four months ago. The sources said these two issues among others are likely to figure in?the Monday’s meeting.
On Sunday, Shah also held an interaction programme with as many as 88 volunteers who have pledged to work full-time for the party under the Vistaarak Yojana (reach out programme) for the next one year ahead of the Assembly elections. Shah thanked them for dedicating one year of their lives for the party work.
