Mangaluru, Aug 7: As the city becomes rife with love and cheer, celebrating the beautiful bond of brothers and sisters, one family has more of a reason to delight, as a young lady reunites with her brother and mother after having gone missing for about two weeks.
Thanks to the efforts of White Doves, Supritha was united again with her family, on the special day of Raksha Bandhan, on Monday, August 7.
Supritha, aged 25, went missing with her daughters a little more than two weeks ago. It was on the night of July 22, that the Barke police brought Supritha to the White Doves Home for Women at Matadakani, along with her two daughters aged seven months and two years respectively. The police had brought her to the home after having found her alone in the KSRTC Bus Stand in Mangaluru, that night.
Out of fear, Supritha had not revealed her complete story to the police personnel but had informed that she was beaten and left by her husband in the bus stand and that she had no parents or family to call her own. She also told them that she was from Tamil Nadu.
After being brought to the house, the White Doves sheltered and counselled her. They reaffirmed from her that she had run away because of her husband’s beating. Besides, she also revealed to them that she had a mother who was looking after her and her two children.
When getting in touch with her, Supritha's mother, in Aldur near Chikkamagaluru, was delighted about her daughter being safe and taken care of by White Doves. She arrived with Supritha's brother, to take her daughter and grandchildren back home, on the special day.
She expressed her gratitude to White Doves for reuniting the family. She narrated about the anxiety that ensued since Supritha and the children disappeared.
It is said that police had lost hope of finding Supritha and the daughters alive.
