Mangaluru: Now, Konkani TV reality show on Wilfy's songs - 'Mojho Tallo Gaitalo'

Mangaluru, Aug 7: Daijiworld 24x7 TV channel has announced a unique Konkani singing reality show 'Mojho Tallo Gaitalo' on the songs of Konkani music legend Wilfy Rebimbus, whose 75th birth anniversary was observed earlier this year. The show is being hosted to pay rich tribute to the 'Konkan Kogull' who revolutionised Konkani music, and who is known as the 'Father of Konkani music'.

The reality TV contest is open to all, male and female, above 15 years of age. The contestants should pick songs that are penned by Wilfy Rebimbus. Singers who have participated in any kind of 'Wilfy Nite' show, or rendered voice to albums of Wilfy's songs are not eligible to participate. Also, singers who have won major singing titles are not eligible.

Top three winners will be given prizes including cash and gift vouchers.

Auditions will be held in two parts. Mangaluru auditions will be held at Forum Fiza Mall, 2nd Floor, Pandeshwar Road, Mangaluru on August 27, 2017 and Udupi auditions will be held at Don Bosco Hall, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi on September 3, 2017.

Contestants may download the entry form available on daijiworld.com or can collect them at Daijiworld offices at Airport Road, Bondel / Divya Deepa Arcade, Bendorewell / Kishoo Enterprises, 3rd Floor, Mandavi Trade Centre, Kadiyali, Udupi or from Jerosa Company, Hampankatta, Mangaluru

    The contribution of late Wilfy Rebimbos towards Konkany music should not be neglected under any circumstances. The music as well as the lyrics and also the teamwork rendered by Wilfy Rebimbos to the Konkany society is indeed unique.

    Although Wilfy Rebimbos is no more, we have the presence of Meena and her son Vishwas along with their respective partners who are equally keen to pursue the Konkany music howsoever possible. This is an added advantage to keep the legacy of late Wilfy Rebimbos alive.

    Besides, hopefully, these kind of reality shows will bring some monetary benefits for the family of late Wilfy Rebimbos so that they are motivated to pursue their own talent and efforts for the betterment of the Konkany society.
