Ballari, Aug 6: Three children with special needs were reunited with their parents thanks to Aadhar card.

Boina Kalyan, Athishim and Madhav were handed over to their parents in the presence of the officials from child welfare committee and child welfare department here on Saturday, August 5.

The three lived in a children's home here as their parents could not be traced for some years. When the officials in the children's home went to get Aadhar card for the children, they learned that Aadhar cards had already been obtained in their names. Further enquires revealed that these three Aadhar cards were obtained in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The officials later found out that the parents of Boina Kalyan lived in Gudiwada in Krishna district and parents of Athishim lived in Palamanir in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and relatives of Madhav lived in Kochitra in Nizamabad district in Telangana. All these family members were informed. It was a happy reunion for the families who came to take their lost children back. Madhav is an orphan and his uncle came to take him.

All these three children went missing from their homes at different times and were spotted by the child welfare department and were accommodated in the children's home.

Athishim had been missing for the past five years and his father Mohammed Ikran had spent Rs 1.5 lac to locate him in vain.

The government has made it mandatory for children's homes to have Aadhar cards made for their inmates.

Everyone would be praising the Aadhar card here.

But think first as to how do these 'special children' are lost!

    Usually they are not lost.

But in many parts of India, children with special needs and mental issues are let go by the families.

That is how they get lost.

So the Aadhar card may have become a burden to such families.

    Sad but true!

@Mangalorean ,mangalore,I dont think all these children were let go because of their deficiency. It is quite possible children self might have in their innocence simply wentout on a "tour" and never found way back.Dont draw devil on the walls always.May be sometimes some do it.Important is now all of them came back to their familys, that one or two family were searching for them.

.credit shoule be for MODI..UPA Adhaar was toothless..it was not passed in parliament, no legal status and almost junk..almost a mess..even SC was reluctant..but MODI made it mandatory in every dept eventhough his opponents still oppose his move..Modi converted Adhaar bill as a money bill so that it could be passed in parliament and no need to pass is RS where Congress has majority which opposed bill..look at the enrolment is past UPA 10 years and in NDA 3 years..these kids traced because MODI made it mandatory in school, even for midday meal..Congress & co ridiculed it..now these kids traced by MODI's initiative only..
