Bengaluru, Aug 6: “Chief minister Siddaramaiah and Congress are playing politics by talking about making Lingayat, a separate religion. Siddaramaiah is using his ministers for this purpose. But they should keep in mind that we will not allow politics in the name of religion,” said BJP state chief and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday, August 5.
Yeddyurappa was speaking in the BJP Executive Committee meeting held on Palace Grounds.
“Karnataka has reached number one position in corruption now. This is the time we realize the importance of making Karnataka, a Congress-free state. BJP national chief Amit Shah and prime minister Narendra Modi have this dream of making India, a nation free of Congress rule. We should help them in realising this dream,” he added.
“Amith Shah will be in state for 3 days from August 12. He will give us a strategy to face the next Assembly elections in state, the way he did for Uttar Pradesh elections,” he said.
“Congress is planning to implicate BJP leaders in various cases to divert the minds of people and to take revenge against us. They are also digging up old cases. We are ready and well-equipped to face consequences,” he challenged.
He also called the BJP executives to boycott foreign goods. He informed that a drive titled ‘Swadeshi Suraksha Abhiyan’ will be held from August 6 to 15 to boycott and destroy foreign goods. “Destroy the foreign goods you possess. Make a vow to use only Indian goods. We will create awareness on this during the Abhiyan.” he concluded.
