Udupi, Aug 4: Superintendent of police (SP) of Udupi district K T Balakrishna has been transferred to the Home Guards department.
The order was issued by the state government on Friday August 4.
Balakrishna has been appointed as SP of Home Guards.
IPS officer Sanjeev M Patil will replace Balakrishna as SP of Udupi district.

Sanjeev Patil is currently serving as SP of Anti-Corruption Bureau in Bengaluru. He had earlier served as DCP of Mangaluru.
Also, DCP Hanumatharaya who recently took over as DCP (crime and trafffic) of Mangaluru, SP and principal, Karnataka State police training School Channapatna. He has been replaced by DCP (law and order), Mangaluru Shantharaju has been transffered and posted as DCP (Intelligence), Bengaluru city. Puttammadaiah, M, currently serving in ACB, Davangere, will replace him.
K T Balakrishna had taken charge as SP of Udupi district in July 2016. Sanjeev Patil had been transferred from Mangaluru to Bengaluru this May.
