Mangaluru, Aug 4: The third edition of eTIME FDP and national conference on emerging trends in Mechanical Engineering, was inaugurated in Spoorthi Hall, St Joseph Engineering College here, on Friday, August 4 .
The programme was organised by the department of Mechanical Engineering, St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, in association with Scientific and Academic Publishing, United States.
Inaugurating the conference, chief guest of the ceremony, Dr JM Mallikarjuna, professor from IIT Madras, spoke about the relevance of the conference, highlighting the need for institutions and faculty to be in in touch with the rapidly evolving technologies.
Dr Joseph Gonsalves, principal – SJEC, in his address spoke about the 100% renewable energy status of Germany and highlighted the need for developing sustainable technology.
In his presidential address, Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, congratulated the department on its achievement and spoke about the need to strive towards achieving bigger things and not let small achievements, with its smaller glories, stagnate one.
Dr Sudheer M, professor and head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Dr Shreeranga Bhat, organising secretary of eTIME-2017 were present on occasion.
