Mangaluru: Serial holidays to affect your work twice this month, plan in advance

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Aug 4: Your work in government offices and banks is going to be affected because of two serial holidays this month.

August 12 is a second Saturday while 13 is Sunday and 15 is Independence Day. Though on August 14, being Chandramana Krishnastami, there is no holiday, government and bank workers can avail, RH (Restricted Holiday) and CL (Casual Leave) leaves respectively. So with four days of holidays during this time, one cannot expect to get any work done in government offices and banks.

Ganesh Chaturthi this year falls on Friday, August 25, which is a holiday. Next day August 26, is fourth Saturday. And August 27, is Sunday.

With these 4 and 3 days of serial holidays coming up soon, you should plan your work in government offices and banks well in advance. Do not think that ATMs will come to your rescue. No matter what bankers say, cash is not loaded into ATMs as one expects. Moreover, due to heavier withdrawals during this time, ATMs will face cash shortage even if normal loading of cash is done.

During my last vacation, I suggested a (lazy) bank manager, that he need not retire for his life time, as the number of holidays far exceed the number of working days in India!!

Bank with staff in the bank and without staff is the same. If they do not won't to work or provide any service they say the printer is not working /not connected to the server. This as happened to me at one of the public sector banks in Kankanady. When I went on day one I was told there is no staff and there was a note were the passbook printing is done saying printer is not working. After two days back at the bank the note was there saying printer is not working. After asking the staff how come the printer is not repaired and raised my voice the printer started to work. At the public sector banks they are obliged to provide service. The staff get a good fat package even while in duty and even after retirement. They also enjoy holidays also in the form of strikes.

Very soon we will have a new bank called "D. K. S. Bank". Most of the Notes found in his house instead of in the Bank or ATM.
