Mangaluru, Aug 3: Dr B S Talwadi, a catholic Scholar’s travelogue, 'Sarastheerada Sobagu’, was released by Bishop Dr Ignatius D’Souza, bishop of Bareilly at Sandesha Foundation on Wednesday, August 2.
Speaking on the occasion, the bishop lauded the noble task of Dr Talwadi and his contribution to Kannada literature especially on Catholic faith. “Dr Talwadi has travelled across countries and presented the journey through his panoramic writings,” said the bishop.
A stalwart in folklore, Dr Talwadi said, “Travelling and writing is my passion. It is a privilege to contribute my mite to the society with my pen.” He also elucidated the contents of the travelogue and said that it contains history, folklore and the growth of Christianity in the Gangetic plains.
Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, director of Sandesha, Bro Victor Crasta, assistant director of Sandesha, Roy Castelino, trustee of Sandesha, eminent scholars, priests, sisters and friends of the author were present.
Dr Talwadi’s 238th book, ‘Sarastheerada Sobagu’, is dedicated to Bishop Dr Ignatius D’Souza. The book speaks about the author’s journey to North India, his experiences, Christian folklore of the places and his discoveries.
