Mangaluru, Aug 1: Devastated by the untimely and shocking death of their daughter, Kavya's parents Lokesh and Baby on Tuesday August 1 met V S Ugrappa, chairperson of the expert committee on prevention of sexual violence against women and chidren, at Daijiworld corporate office in Bondel and urged him to probe the case thoroughly and provide them justice.
Ugrappa and Kavya's parents were in Daijiworld office to attend a live programme on Daijiworld 24x7 television channel the same evening. Prior to the programme they held discussions during which Ugrappa patiently listened to their concerns.
During the matter, Ugrappa expressed condolences and sympathies to Kavya's parents over her death.
The parents gave Ugrappa the details about their daughter's death and explained why they suspect it to be a case of murder.
In response, Ugrappa assured all help to the parents from his department and told them that he would take this matter serious and bring to the government's attention.
"We have lost faith in the police, but we believe that you and your team can do us justice," Kavya's mother told Ugrappa.
Speaking exclusively to daijiworld after the meeting, Kavya's parents said, "We are happy with the meeting with Ugrappa. He has assured us that he will do his best on the matter. He extended his support to us and assured that justice will be done. This meeting has brought us some relief. We will continue our fight for justice."
Members of the expert committee on prevention of sexual violence against women and children Vinisha Neera, Prabha, Dr Leela Sampige, Jyothi and others were present.
