Kuwait, May 6: Konkani Kullvar, Kuwait, a Konkani writers' forum in Kuwait, organized a family get-together recently at Ahmadi Garden to bring all the members and Kullvar supporters together. It was a delightful programme with more than 90 members forming part of the get-together.
After a dusty and stormy week, the climate was clear and pleasant.
The get-together began with a prayer by Ida D’Silva, Paladka and a few words from Lancy Pinto Nayak (convener), followed by breakfast.
Ivan Almeida, Prashant Ferrao and Reyan Lobo organized games for children as well as adults with the help of a number of volunteers.
The crowd enjoyed melodious songs rendered by Ivan Almeida, Austin Brahmavar, Vinay and Vrinda Lewis.
Before lunch, Shaan Bondel addressing the gathering recalled the achievements of Kullvar in past years, including the Konkani Day celebration of last year, which was remarkably houseful. He recalled the strong support of the Konkani lovers for that celebration and asked the similar support this year also to make the show a success.
Shaan Bondel’s new comedy drama 'Dantak Dant, Dollyak Dollo' was inaugurated on the occasion.
Lancy Pinto Nayak gave a brief introduction of the comedy drama and announced that it will be played on 'Konkani Day'. James Paul inaugurated the drama.
After lunch, the games and songs were continued and well enjoyed by the crowd. The fun game 'Dog and the Bone' was well-enjoyed by the crowd.
Finally, Nayak distributed the prizes for winner in games as well as all the children and thanked all the participants for their support, love and encouragement through the Kullvar.

The get-together was well-organized by Prashant Ferrao with the support of Reyan Lobo, Ivan Almeida and Janet Almeida (coordinator).
The announcement of celebrating the 'Konkani Day' was the main reason for the get-together. The Konkani Day will be celebrated on Friday August 29, 2008 at Indian Community Girls School Salmiya at 6 pm. Entry will be free.
