Mangaluru, Jul 31: In the decennial year of the school, about 150 former Carmelites who had left the portals of MCCS since 2011-12 reunited in the school auditorium to begin yet another journey of oneness on Sunday, July 30.
The ambience was full of cheer, hugs, astonishment as the youthful adults bold and beautiful ushered in.
After the registration and refreshment, the former Carmelites introduced themselves batch-wise during the ice breaking session.
Principal Sr Melissa welcomed the former students. Sr Carissima, the administrator addressed the gathering in her short crisp talk acknowledging their belongingness to MCCS. The guest of the evening Manoj Louis, shared his personal experiences on framing an alumni association and about the various contributions one can render as an alumni to their Alma mater and the society at large.
An executive committee was formed for further planning of the activities of the alumni.
Spot games and the quiz were conducted by Rebecca Albuquerque and Lolita Lobo. The youngsters affirmed that the best way to move forward was to give back to their alma mater and the society, and were enthused by the vision and mission of MCCS about living a 'higher and nobler' life each day.
The gathering ended with music, movement and hustle bustle of fellowship which brought to reality the strength of the huge and happy Mount Carmel family. Safa Suleiman voiced her feelings of gratitude for the wonderful time they had together. Sowmiya Sumith compered the programme.
