Mangaluru, Jul 29: District convener of Hindu Jagran Vedike, Ratnakar Shetty, who has been named as an accused relating to disturbances at Kalladka, and who was being treated in a private hospital at Puttur since the last about six weeks, was again admitted into the government Wenlock Hospital in the city by the police personnel on Friday July 28 morning.
The police had got Shetty discharged from the said private hospital at Puttur on Thursday and taken him into custody. Thereafter, he was led to the town police station here. They attended to paper work to meet legal procedure and were readying to produce Shetty at the residence of the magistrate at night. Before doing so, they had got health check of Shetty done at the government hospital here.
As Shetty was found to be suffering from high blood pressure, he was immediately admitted into the same hospital for treatment. On Friday morning, Shetty was taken to Wenlock Hospital where his blood pressure was found to be unusually high. As the doctors found some issues relating to functioning of his heart, he was admitted for treatment there, it is gathered.
Ratnakar Shetty was bringing some medicines on June 13 when Khaleel and his associates had reportedly attacked and injured him with a knife. After both sides filed complaints against each other, the police had registered attempt to murder case under section 308 of Indian Penal Code. As Shetty failed to procure anticipatory bail, he was taken into custody on Thursday. Police circle inspector, M S Prakash, said that the accused was produced in the court and as per the court order, he has been admitted into Wenlock Hospital under police supervision for five days.
