Bengaluru: It is not government’s job to create new religions – Eshwarappa

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Jul 29: Senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa has said that the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah is taking up issues such as separate religion for the Lingayat-Veerashaiva community in order to cover up its lapses in administration.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, July 28, Eshwarappa blamed the government for diverting people’s attention from the failures of the government. “What will be the fate of society, if each caste is given a separate religion status?” he said.

"If the Lingayat-Veerashaiva community is declared a separate religion, then Kurubas and Dalits will also seek independent religion tags. It is not the job of the government to create new religions. The government is elected to safeguard the interests of the people and unfortunately that is not happening,” he added.

"When corruption at Parappana Agrahara prison became public, the government used the diversionary tactic by raising the issue of granting official status to state flag," Eshwarappa concluded.

Be a deciplined human first. Religion is a brand name. Brainless people fight for religion. If your attitude towards fellow human is not respectfull there is not meaning of life. Govt has nothing to do with religion.
More religion belief of govt then it will be like a war zone. See what is happening in most of middle east. Too much focus on religion and dictatorship by govt of those nations. End result s are war. No freedom for society. Please don't mane india lime those places

“If one is a Hindu one must accept the Vedic authority. Those who have rejected the Vedic authority are non-Hindus (Avidikas). The Buddhists, for example, who reject the Vedas rely on their own scriptures, Tripitakas, and are branded as heretics (i.e Non Hindus) . If this argument holds, then the Lingayats who reject the Vedic authority and accept the authority of the Kannada Vachanas must be regarded as heretics (Non Hindus).” Said the protesting Dharam Gurus.
“Lingayatism is an independent religion founded by Basaveshwara in the 12th century. It has never been part of Hinduism. It has fought Hinduism,”
The RSS political wing BJP is the powerful lobby pro brahminism. There Hindu Rashtra does not consider the pluralism of this nation.Basavanna strived for a casteless society and embraced everyone.
Lingayats constitute 17% of the total population in Karnataka and are the largest community followed by the Vokkaligas. They're dominant in close to 100 of the 224 assembly seats, mostly in North Karnataka, and there have been nine chief ministers from the community.

Former vice-chancellor of Hampi Kannada University and former chairman of PG department of Kannada Studies, Karnatak University, Dharwad, MM Kalburgi said notwithstanding the political and economic benefits, Lingayat religion should be give an independent status for its social advantages. "Logically, Lingayatism is a non-Vedic, independent religion. But as time passed it was influenced by Vedic culture and its followers started taking pride in being part of that culture. Lingayat should remain an independent religion as the philosophy itself preaches non-Vedic practices.

It is the function of the Government to recognize what is already there. Lingayats are Lingayats, followers of Basavanna. They can't be Hindus. They want to be recognized as a separate entity. What is wrong? Why blame the CM? Blams Yeddy. He had earlier accepted the fact that Lingayats are not Hindus. It is politically inconvenient to him now to say that since the Hindutva flavour is decreasing day by day with their obnoxious and vicious deeds.

Shankarji message noted. However my somple suggestion for him was ''Please loosen your collar button before it chokes you''
Suppose if I have a huge neck with double chin or lot of fat (charbi) arround my neck and the shirt which I wear has tight neck I would loosen it to breathe comfortably.
Shirt / jacket should have atleast about a finger's width of extra room when the top button is buttoned. Thanks.
