Mangaluru, Jul 28: The three accused in Pawan Raj murder case, Bipin Jogi (29) from Taipekal, Vamanjoor, Charan alias Charanraj (22) from Nisargadhama, Moodushedde, and Harish Poojary (28) from Amruth Nagar, Vamanjoor, were remanded to judicial custody by a court here on Thursday July 27. Their judciail custody will be in force till August 9. The trio was arrested on Wednesday from near the KSRTC bus stand at Puttur by the police based on reliable information.

The murder of Pawan Raj Shetty, which occurred on July 24, had come out into the open the next morning after recovery of his body from a half-completed, dilapidated structure some distance away from his family's residence at Kuttipalke. Special teams led by city south subdivision assistant commissioner of police, K Rama Rao, and rural police inspector, H Shivaprakash, had been formed to investigate the case, under the guidance of deputy commissioners of police, M Shantharaju and Hanumantharaya. The team led by inspector, H Shivaprakash, comprising police sub-inspectors S Sudhakar and Venkatesh among others, made the arrests.

Police say that minor misunderstanding between two gangs resulted in the murder. Although the gangs led by Pawan Raj and Bipin did not have any bitter enmity, some differences existed in connection with some old rivalry, it is said. Police sources also said that during their investigation, they realized that people from the village were not happy with the behaviour of Pawan Raj.

Pawan, who was addicted to ganja consumption, used to sit in the said dilapidated building whenever he consumed ganja, and listened to music. Bipin reportedly had seen during his visit to the cricket ground at Kuttipalke a few days back that Pawan was enjoying music in that building with knife, sickle and some other sharp weapons by his side. At around 1.15 pm on Monday, Bipin went to Kuttipalke along with friends, Charan and Harish, sprayed chilli powder on the face of Pawan and isolated him there. Then they hit his head and neck with sharp weapon before fleeing from the spot, the police said.

The police plan to secure police custody of the accused to further investigate the case.

The deceased Pawan known to identified with Hindutva group. The law enforcement department which is not able to make any arrest in RSS activist murder seems to overwhelming active in closing this file.
By saying minor gang war the officer diluted the angle of investigation which would busted the kingpins. But law enforcement seems to in hushup to close this case as early as possible.

In broader spectrum of investigation 'drug' gangs and its association should have proved with Hindutva leaders. When Namo Naresh can get bail without any lie detection test even these three trio will soon enjoy the freedom.

If this gang rivalry not curbed soon ambitious smart city Mangalore will be worst than Mumbai underworld in its peak.

You are smart if you learn from your mistakes, but you are wise if you learn from others mistakes. Pawan never learnt anything from his mistakes nor his father's and that's why such an untimely death. His father atleast lived more than him. If Someone dies and atleast a handful of people don't feel sad for you then you have done something really horrible in life. Hope this remains a lesson for all those who aspire to live by the sword, remember that you will also perish by the sword..
