Bengaluru, Jul 25: It is gathered that retired IAS officer, Vinay Kumar, who had been appointed by the state government to investigate allegations of irregularities in Parappana Agrahara prison here where AIADMK general secretary, Sasikala Natarajan, kingpin of stamp paper scam, Abdul Karim Telgi, and some others were receiving royal treatments, has submitted his preliminary report. The report finds the allegations to be true, it is said.
Kumar found that Sasikala and Ilavarasi were provided with luxury rooms for stay but during the visit of the investigation team, these facilities were not found to have been provided. Therefore, the officer has recommended for extending the investigation to reach to the root of the issue.
When deputy inspector general of prisons, Roopa, revealed the irregularities going on behind the walls of the prison, the government faced a piquant situation. It immediately ordered probe by retired IAS officer, Vinay Kumar, duly seeking preliminary report within a week. The team, which began its task quickly, collected information from various officers beginning Monday last. It also verified the allegation of visit by additional police commissioner (crime), Ravi, to the prison along with chief superintendent of Mysuru prison, Anand Reddy. On Monday the team submitted preliminary report to home department, sources stated.
