Mangaluru, Jul 24: The first schedule of shooting of 'Deyi Baidethi Gejjegiri Nandanodu', the Tulu-Kannada bilingual, has been completed. The film is produced and directed by Suryoday Perampalli.
'Deyi Baidethi Gejjegiri Nandanodu' is based on the life of Deyi Baidethi, mother of Koti and Chennaya, the invaluable jewels in the history of Tulunadu. Nearly twelve days were spent on the first schedule of shooting which was held in and around Shettibettu.
An ancient and prestigious clan's house was converted for shooting. Another setting of Pejanar Brahmins was erected on the other side of the vicinity. Shooting of 25 days is still said to be pending which will be held in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi from August 15.
"The way a woman sacrificed her life for her hometown 500 years ago is the theme of the film. Only a portion of her life is reflected in Padthana, the novel. The hardships faced by her are not shown anywhere. The things concealed in Padthana will be shown on the silver screen," says the film director.
