Kundapur, Jul 23: Investiture of the school leaders was held at Green Valley National School and PU College on Saturday, July 22 in the school hall. The ceremony began with a colourful and ceremonial procession of school leaders and dignitaries accompanied by house colours.
The function was chaired by chief guest Dr Rajendra S Nayak, principal, Government First Grade College Koteshwara, Kundapur.
The oath was administered by principal John Mathew.
Headboy Mohammed Juman of second PUC and the headgirl Aiswarya P, second PUC took their oath of office followed by the house captains, and sports captains and prefects.
The chief guest Dr Rajendra S Nayak decorated the leaders with ceremonial sashes and certificates of appointment.
The principal in his invocation address invoked the leaders to take their responsibilities seriously and become catalysts for change for the school, society and nation by becoming responsible global citizens equipped to face the challenges of global competitions. He also requested students to make use of their talents the best way possible availing the facilities offered in the school.
Chief guest Dr Rajenra Nayak in his presidential address congratulated the new leaders and advised them to take their responsibilities seriously for the benefit of society. He highlighted the importance of the motto of the school 'virtue alone ennobles' and advised the students to emulate good examples and character and walk in the right path so much so they excel in whatever field they go.
The appointment certificates of prefects were handed over by Syed Jaffer and SM Syed.
The chief guest was felicitated by SM Saeed. Headboy Mohammed welcomed the gathering and headgirl Aiswarya Pujar proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with a colourful entertainment programme staged by the students of Green Valley School.
