Mangaluru, Jul 23: Member of Karnataka state Haj committee, Abubakker Siddique Mundugoli, initiated registration of Haj pilgrims at the old airport complex here on Saturday July 22. Flights to Madina carrying Haj pilgrims will leave from here between July 24 and 26.
President of Haj Camp Maintenance Committee Y Muhammed Kunhi, vice president Puthu Bava, Haj committee officials Fairoz Pasha, Mohar Pasha, Hanif Haji of Mangaluru Central Committee, former president of Bajpe central Jumma Masjid, V Muhammed, Rashid Vitla, Hanif Muhammed, Nassir and several others were present on this occasion.
The first flight will leave for Saudi Arabia on July 24. On the next two days, July 25 and 26, two flights each will depart. Each of these aircrafts will carry 158 Haj pilgrims. Haj maintenance committee has made arrangement for the registration of pilgrims and luggage maintenance at the old airport here.
This time, instead of the old airport, arrangement to house the pilgrims has been made at the hall of Bajpe Jumma Masjid and lodges provided by individuals. Minister Roshan Baig, will be initiating the Haj pilgrimage at a programme at Ansar English Medium School Bajpe on July 24, it is gathered.
Ebullient KCF volunteers yet again in readiness to serve Haj pilgrims
National president of Karnataka Culltural Foundation, Saudi Arabia, D P Yousuf Sakhafi Baitar said that like in the past, the foundation has kept ready a team of volunteers for serving Haj pilgrims coming from India to Saudi Arabia.
"About 300 volunteers are in readiness to serve the pilgrims. The volunteers will begin work with the touching down of the first flight carrying Haj pilgrims at Jeddah/Madina airports in Saudi Arabia. The volunteers serve the pilgrims by welcoming them on arrival, carrying their luggages to their rooms, and assisting them in all stages thereafter," he said, addressing a press conference held here on Saturday July 22.
He informed that during a week's pilgrimage, volunteers will be present in considerable numbers at all strategic points of Meena, and they will continue to serve Indian pilgrims till they are seen off at the airport on their return journey.
