Mangaluru: 13 boys from Bihar without documents stopped at railway station, sent to child home

Mangaluru, Jul 22: Police here on Saturday July 22, checked the documents with 47 boys who were travelling from Bihar to city and discovered that only 34 of them had valid documents.

The police had stopped the boys on suspicion of child trafficking at Mangaluru Central Railway Station.

As per the police, 34 children carried the valid documents and letters from their parents. They came with their caretakers to the Madrasa at Jamiya Masjid at Kudroli owned by Masood.





13 children did not carry any documents and did not have permission from authorities. They were also not accompanied by caretakers. It is gathered that they were heading to Udyavar Jamaath Masjid near Udupi

Police have handed over these 13 children to child welfare committee (CWC) at Bondel after registering a case.

“All 47 children are from Bihar. They arrived in Mangaluru for Madrasa education. But 13 of them do not have proper documents. So the police stopped them and immediately informed us. After the verification we came to know they were brought illegally. Investigation is going on.” Childline committee member Yogish informed Daijiworld.

    Couple of years ago similar incident took place where Bihari kids were caught at Bangalore railway station on their way to madrassas in Tumkur, ones with no documents were sent back. Reason for these kids being brought to our lovely state is mainly a) parents have many mouths to feed and poverty, they will be fed here at least and b) sly attempt to change the demography of Karnataka. Let us not have a Assam like situation, where illegal Bangladeshi migrants have swamped the local population leading to widespread unrest, in our peaceful state albeit due to migration from other states. Other than state govt being vigilant, whether Congress or BJP, Government of India can help by refusing benefits like rations and free seats in education to more than two children per family so states with high fertility do not swamp states like Karnataka with their excess population. My comments might seem harsh but there is no other way.

    Aren't there Madrasas in Bihar. ?
    This incdents needs to investgated thoroughly. Parents, Madrasa authorities etc.
    We cannot rule out any probabaility.
    Mangalore seems to attracting so many outsiders as if a mini afluent Kudla of Gulf.

    As many as 31 tribal girls from Assam were trafficked to Gujarat and Punjab by Sewa Bharati, a social service organization affiliated to the RSS in June last year to “initiate them into Hinduism”, according to reports.The report quotes a leading child rights activist from Kokrajhar as saying, “Prominent children’s aid organisations, such as Unicef, emphasis on improving social conditions within the children’s local setting, rather than upro­oting them. But the RSS is arm twisting activists and parents and brazenly flouting laws to send children away for indoctrination. Moreover, with the new BJP government at the Centre and in Assam now, no one wants to touch this case.
    Do Railways need special permits for its citizens for free movement? In which railway act citizen need to hold valid documents for his travel?If the parents clearly sent the kids off voluntarily accompanied by guardian do they still need identification?

    This is the second largest batch of kids migrating towards Mangalore and Kerala. Recently 40 kids have been caught by Bangalore police most of them are illegal migrants from Bangladesh in a Kerala bound train from North. sure that these kids are also from Bangladesh pushed to south in the name of religion expansion. Police should take action against such nexus. God save Mangalore

    Why withhold these boys? It is PM who should give a mandate on the entry and exit in all states. It is a strategic move not something which has to be done statewise it has to be applicable at all places. In void of that entry can only be questioned not stopped. We cannot again hold Rahul Gandhi responsible for the same.

    ..earlier in bangalore railway station around 150 kids seen, now in mangalore..what about their formal education!..is Madarasa education enough..Maharastra Govt said madrasas should teach mathematics, science and social studies otherwise it will not be recognised as formal schools..what about Karnataka?

    If you are an adult you can travel anywhere in India without any ID but for minor kids if noticed by the authority they may have to intervene to ensure their safety and well being in this case a large number and even child trafficking is possible. In this case out of 47 kids 34 had documents and thier destiny is confirmed and let go, but the rest what is there destiny who don't have any documents or care takers????.

    Everyone has to carry ID proof. Adults or minors identity is must.
    In this case police have to find the genuineness of 34 children documents also.
    Because previously people from Pakistan reached via Nepal Bihar border to Bangalore....

    Nothing to worry these kids will very soon land up working in some restaurants. They spoke in Hindi and were noticed. Once Hindi is completely imposed in southern India they will be hardly noticed as everybody think they are local kids on a trip.

    Childline committee and the police could have arranged a private or KSRTC bus to shift the children and their luggage, instead of police vehicles. This could have avoided the mental agony of the children. Thay shouldn't have even taken the children to police station. Instead they could have utilized any room in the railway station to check their documents and enquiries.
