Bantwal, July 21: The security wall of old Jackwell, which stood besides the new vented dam at Thumbay, has collapsed on Friday, July 21. However it did not cause damage to the newly constructed dam.
There will not be any obstacle for the supply of drinking water to the people in Mangaluru.
The wall constructed about fifty years ago has caved in due to incessant rains and moisture.
Karnataka water board executive engineer Mahadevaiah, assistant executive engineers Lingaraju, Shobha Laxmi and junior engineer Shekar visited the place soon after hearing the news. They have informed the city corporation engineer and asked him to conduct the necessary repairs.
