Mangaluru, Jul 21: BJP leader, Rahim Uchil, said that he would be filing a complaint in Pandeshwar police station here against a person who has posted disparaging information about him in his Facebook page.
The said post appears in the Facebook page of a person named William Pinto. He has mentioned that Rahim Uchil was appointed as the chief priest of the famous Sri Siddharoodha Math temple at Hubballi. "At the meeting of managing committee held today morning, Sri Sri Rahim Poojary was approved unanimously as priest and appointed in the temple," the page mentions, accompanied by a picture of Rahim in the said temple.
Uchil said that he had been sent to Hubballi in discharge of duty at his party's Vistarak for 14 days and that during this visit, he had paid obeisance at Siddharoodha Math. "On this occasion, the priest of the temple draped a shawl around me and honoured me, which actually made me happy. I follow the principles of Islam. At the same time, respecting other religions has been my policy. Therefore, I had posted the photo of my visit to the said Math in my Facebook page. But some communal-minded people have been spreading malice against me by twisting the facts. Therefore, I have decided to file complaint against the said person on Friday," he explained.
