Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 17: Karnataka chief minister (CM), Siddaramaiah, summoned adviser to the home minister and former IPS officer, Kempaiah, and director general of police (intelligence), M N Reddy, to his official residence, 'Kaveri' on Sunday July 16. It is learnt that he gave a thorough dressing down to both the officers for their failure to ably handle situation arising out of communal tension created by the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist, Sharath Madiwala, at B C Road. Siddaramaiah, who also holds home portfolio, also told them in no uncertain term that they should exercise proper control over their juniors.

He questioned both the officers specifically about what he feels inept handling of the situation, and expressed unhappiness at their inability to exercise control over the disturbing situation.

M N Reddy and Kempaiah

As per reports, Siddaramaiah angrily questioned Reddi as to why did the intelligence department fail to get advance indication of possibility of communal clashes happening in Dakshina Kannada district after incidents like attacks and murder happened there. He also told both the officers to hold junior officers under tight leash and never allow anyone to violate their limits. He also instructed them to decide and inform the government about steps which can be initiated against officers who are found to be transgressing their limits.

How do you know they are hiding, maybe you have more one side information. Just don't instigate the problems of others. If they come out of their den then they would roar again.

Their symbol is hand, loyalty elsewhere Mr. CM. Dk problem was mis managed to get larger attention and poor rating for government. Had it been any other community, the local police station would have brought things under control. For ordinary failures, the police show such ferocity and empowerment, what happened now?

Oye Siddanna.....let these Police Officers take decision against all culprits irrespective of their religion, cast or party they support....and then you see problem will be solved within one week time.... If you give conditional power even for arresting culprits....city will burn for many more days or months!!!!

..this govt blowing this out of proportion..sending so many police officials, extending sections..either Govt witch hunting or local MLAs preparing ground for coming elections..otherwise there is no reason to hype this incident..catch murdered, send them jail, target the organisation..simple..instead they are keep on extending section..there are so many cases of IS#S sleeper cell activities, dozens joined them, some killed in foreign land..but state Govt seems least bothered..
