Mangaluru, Jul 15: A lecture series and hands-on workshop was held on 'Magnification and Adhesive Luting Agents in Dentistry - Recent Concepts', at Thrimshathi Bhavan, at A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, on Thursday, July 13.
The chief guest of the programme was professor Dr Veena Kumari.
The resource persons were Dr Karthik Shetty, additional professor, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru and Dr Chandramouli, GC India Dental Private Limited.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest and the dignitaries with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Among the dignitaries were professor Dr U S Krishna Nayak, dean, professor Dr Mithra N Hegde, vice dean, Head of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, professor Dr Shishir Shetty, dean of students’ welfare, and the resource persons, and faculty members of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.
The first session of the day was by Dr Karthik Shetty, on 'Magnification in Dentistry' which concluded with case presentations done under microscope.
The second session was by Dr Chandramouli, on a recently introduced adhesive luting cement. He also conducted a hands-on course for the postgraduates.
A hands-on session on 'Luting cements' was held by Dr Chandramouli.
The CDE programme was conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics headed by professor Dr Mithra N Hegde and presided over by professor Dr US Krishna Nayak.
30 faculty members, 25 postgraduate students and few undergraduates from the institution attended the programme.
