Mangaluru, May 5: Kannada film Banna Bannada Baduku, in which many Coastalwood artistes have performed, will be released on Friday, May 19 in Karnataka and Sunday, May 28 in Mumbai.
The film directed by Ismael Moodushedde has Raviraj Shetty in the lead role. Anwitha Sagar is the heroine. Ria Meghana, Ramesh Bhat, Sathyajith, Honnavalli Krishna, Gopinath Bhat, Chetan Rai Mani, Mangesh Bhat, Ramesh Rai Kukkuvalli, Apoorva and others have acted in the film.
The film is based on the life of Yakshagana artiste. Balipa Narayan and Sathish Shetty have played the rold of Yakshagana artistes. Music is is provided by A K Vijay Kokila. Shashiraj Kavooru and Suresh R S have provided the script. Many artistes of Tulu and Beary drama have acted in the film. Veteran actor Ramesh Bhat is found playing a Yakshagana artiste, Vishnunavada. Krishna Naik who hails from Karkala is the producer of the film.
Ramesh Bhat said that he played the role of a Yakshagana artiste for the first time. “Yakshagana is the subject of the film. The story captures the beauty of the land. The film portrays the relationship between land and man. The film is suitable for family viewing in theatres,” he said.
