Mangaluru, Mar 19: Water level at Thumbay is coming down and the water is only sufficient for 10-15 days, says the report from Mangaluru City Corporation.
The water is supplied to city from Thumbay dam which is situated at Thumbay on the way to Bantwal.
Mayor Kavita Sanil on March 16 had stated that there would water rationing in city as the water was only sufficient for 20 days from that day. The water was scheduled to start from March 20.
But even before the water rationing could be executed, water level has come down to 4 feet, which is alarming.

The release of water from AMR dam is yet to take place as the deputy commissioner has to approve it. It is said that MCC has already applied for the same and the process has started.
Though the AMR and Nekkilady dams can come to the rescue to some extent, only rains can solve the water woes of the city residents.
Mayor Kavita Sanil said present water stock at Thumbay is sufficient only for 10-15 days.
