Mangaluru: Financial crisis - brothers from city commit suicide at Hassan

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 8: Two brothers, who reportedly belong to Koppalakadu in the city, committed suicide at a lodge at Hassan, duly leaving behind a suicide note. It is said that they decided to end their lives because of huge loss they suffered in chit fund business.

The names of the victims have been given as Purushotham Poojary (45) and Lokanath Poojary (43). They had hired a room in a lodge near Vakkaligas Hostel in the city on Bengaluru-Mangaluru Road on March 3. The brothers did not step out of their room for two days. Therefore, the staff of the lodge knocked at their room door on Tuesday March 7 morning but the brothers did neither respond nor opened the door.

Thereafter the lodge management contacted the police. In the presence of police personnel, the room door was broken open. It was found that the brothers had hanged themselves from the ceiling fan. The brothers had apparently consumed poison before hanging themselves. It is thought that they would have ended their lives at least a couple of days back, as the bodies had begun to decompose.

Cases of cheating had been registered in Kadri police station in the city by several people against these two brothers about fraudulent chit fund transactions and swindling of money invested by people. Both of them had stayed away from city since some days for the fear of police action, it is said. Police personnel of K R Puram extension station at Hassan have registered a case and investigation has been launched.

I know these brothers personally. They were very hardworking ,God fearing, respectable.Never have they hurt anyone. Both the brothers were very united and very close to each other .
This is a big shock .They were very attached and worked together be it vegetable business ,fish business or even in this chit fund .
Definetly the fear of police, shame and embaressement has led them to take this extreme step. This is a very great loss to their parents ,wife ,kids.Somebody must have not refunded the money borrowed or they might have got duped by someone.May the almighty Lord give the family the strength to bear this loss.Rest in peace Loku & Purusha you will be missed.......Rest in Peace ...

May their souls rest in peace.Their intentions may not be of cheating, MIGHT HAVE INVESTED somewhere and lost. Proper investigation has to be carried out. They should have faced police and fought their case if they had been duped by somebody. Committing suicide deepens the mystery.

This saying applies only to small fry. At corporate level you can bite as big as you like, if you find it difficult to chew, government is always there to write your bad debts off. All you have to do is to share the loot before it’s too late.
