Panaji, Mar 3: State-run Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) has said that there is nothing wrong in carrying actress Sunny Leone’s face on contraceptive advertisement on the buses, but would remove it phase wise as per the directions of Goa State Women Commission (GSWC).

“The advertisements which are carried on our buses are approved by the authorities. The same advertisements are also printed on the buses in Uttar Pradesh and other States,” KTCL’s managing director Daryl Natto said.

GSWC had issued directives to KTCL to remove actress Sunny Leone’s face from the contraceptive advertisement that were printed on the buses.

The directions were issued following complaint by NGO Ranaragini, a right wing organization that had objected to Leone’s face in the advertisement on the buses.

Natto said that space on the buses is leased out to Mumbai based agency who would be now requested to remove the picture of Leone from the poster advertising a brand of condoms.

“We will see what best can be done. We will remove the face of the actress in a phased manner. First we will remove it from the buses which are plying the school students,” he said.

“We will have to convince the agency which has won the contract. I think the agency will cooperate and modify the advertisements,” Natto said.
