Bengaluru Mar 2: Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) members filed a police complaint against BJP MP Pratap Simha on Wednesday, March 1 for his remarks on Gurmehar Kaur, a student from Delhi University and daughter if Kargil war martyr.
Pratap Simha, representing Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency, had likened Gurmehar Kaur to underworld fugitive Dawood Ibrahim.
Umesh Boregowda, KPYCC secretary, in his complaint lodged at High Grounds police station here, said that the statements made by Pratap Simha are insensitive and insult to martyrs who gave their lives for the nation.

High Grounds police sent the complaint to the legal cell of the police department for an opinion.
“Further action will be taken after we receive the opinion from the legal department” said a police officer.
Pratap Simha’s remarks had attracted widespread criticism.
