Bengaluru, Feb 25 : Senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament A H Vishwanath said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may have paid the money to the party high command as alleged by former chief minister and state BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa.
Vishwanath was speaking to media persons here on Friday, February 24.
“Political background of MLC Govindaraju, who is also the Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister, is not above board. Hence, the allegations made by the BJP should be taken seriously. Congress president Dr G Parameshwara should lodge a complaint against Govindaraju to initiate a probe to bring out the truth. The silence of Parameshwara at this juncture is not justified,” Vishwanath added.

“There is also a possibility of either BJP or Govindaraju hatching a conspiracy in this matter. Govindaraju should come clear about the charges.” Vishwanath concluded.
Kumaraswamy
Meanwhile, state JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy demanded the resignation of chief minister Siddaramaiah over the diary controversy. “But BJP is not an angel. Both BJP and Congress are partners in crime. They have looted the state for so many years. BJP too has paid money to their central leadership.”
Parameshwara
Congress president in a statement to a TV channel said “The IT department has to clarify whether it has really seized the diary from Govindaraju’s residence and reveal its actual contents. Till then, there is no point discussing it,”
Congress leaders, whose names have been mentioned in the diary and chief minister Siddaramaiah, whose resignation has been demanded by opposition parties, maintained profound silence on the diary controversy.
