A bus on rural service is damaged in Asaigoli of Konaje police station limits while it was plying from Mudipu to Mangaluru. A group of six people smashed the windshield of a private bus that had started from Talapady to Mangaluru at Talapady. Driver Vijay has been seriously injured. Miscreants also hurled about stones on a KSRTC bus that was going to Mangaluru from Kasargod and assaulted driver Matapathi (35). The driver fled fearing trouble.
Nearly 25 women, children and men ran for half a kilometre fearing trouble from miscreants.
RTO officer is responsible:
Private bus owner Sharath said “Our bus did not operate in the morning. However RTO and deputy commissioner said that KSRTC buses will be put into service if we do not start the bus. Therefore the bus had to be inevitably taken out. The RTO and the deputy commissioner are responsible for loss worth thousands caused due to shattering of glass.”
