Mangaluru Feb 24: Udupi Chikkamagaluru Member of Parliament Shobha Karandlaje took a dig on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleging that his regime is full of corruption from last four years. She also said that information about the entries in the diary found at the house of MLC Govindaraju was given by Congress people to B S Yeddyurappa.
Addressing media here on Friday February 24, Karandlaje said, "BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa had revealed about the information found in a diary maintained by MLC Govindaraju which was found at his residence during the recent raid by IT sleuths. He had also mentioned that Siddaramaiah had taken Rs150 crores of kickbacks for sanctioning controversial steel flyover at Bengaluru. Of the Rs 150 crore, Rs 65 crores has already paid to party high command. Soon after Yeddyurappa made the statement, Congress party said that Yeddyurappa has gone mad. Congress also circulated a doctored CD of Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar to divert the minds of the people. There was lot of questions raised as to how Yeddyurappa was able to collect information from the dairy. Their own party members revealed these secrets to Yeddyurappa,"
"Siddaramaiah had said that he would resign if the allegations made by Yeddyurappa were proved. But Yeddyurappa also has challenged that he would resign if the allegations are proved wrong" Shobha said.
"Congress party needs to concentrate more on development as nearly 134 taluks have been identified as drought hit. But the Congress leaders are busy satisfying the high command. They did not invite tender for the controversial steel flyover project in Bengaluru. People in Bengaluru are also opposing the project as several trees will be axed. Even the court has passed an order that trees should not be cut. K J George is adamant to implement the steel flyover project in Bengaluru," said Shobha.
"When IT sleuths raided the residence of MLC Govindaraju, he had openly written a letter to enforcement directorate and Income tax about the disclosed details maintained in the dairy. That proves that Govindaraju himself had written the diary. D K Shivakumar and Ramalinga Reddy also agreed that IT officials had interrogated them too. Interestingly what BJP has been saying from past several days is coming out true" she opined.
"BJP national president Amith Shah stated that Karnataka is one of the most corrupt states in the country. Congress criticised Amith Shah for his remarks. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should immediately resign to his post and also accept resignation of all other tainted ministers," she demanded.
“Regard to Yettinahole project, there is no water at all. M B Patil has paid to the high command and to chief minister Siddaramaiah to retain his position. Congress has utterly failed in providing justice to the people on Yettinahole," Shobha said.
“On February 25, Dakshina Kannada is witnessing a voluntary bandh against the Kerala chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He has no right to deliver speech on communal harmony as he is a criminal minded politician of Kerala. In his 50 years of political career, he has eliminated several innocent people and his hand his filled with blood.” she charged.
“Police department should restrict the vehicles coming from Kasargod to Dakshina Kannada as in the name of communal harmony, several goons from Kerala are trying to enter here. Check posts need to be set up wherever required to check the vehicles before entering to the district. If something goes wrong Police department will be directly responsible," she warned.
When asked about the corruption during their administration, Karandlaje said, "We never went through such humiliation as the Congress. Congress has done false allegations during our administration. But today IT has been able to get solid proof against the Congress leaders like Lakshmi Hebbalkar and Ramesh Jarkiholi where they seized crore of rupees.”
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP district president Sanjeev Matandur and others were present.
