Mangaluru, Feb 23: The century-old Kudripadav-Aikala Pade road is approximately six km away from the block office of Aikala panchayat, Mulky, and 14 km away from Kallamundkur panchayat, Moodbidri. The road provides connectivity to more than 100 families. Though the road is a century old, it has not been renovated even as residents of the locality wait endlessly for government intervention.
In an era where the entire country speaks of Swachh Bharat, Digital India, cashless economy and what not, the dream of having a proper road to commute still remains a distant dream for the people of Kudripadav, Dharode Hitlue and people living in and around Aikala Pade.
In the dusty and skiddy road, travelling has become a testing time for all those who commute daily on this route. In addition to this, the tiny children who travel on this road to reach their schools have been greatly affected.
Locals blame the apathy of local panchayat administration and the government for the pathetic condition of this century old road. Though there are many programs under the central government such as Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojna, the local administration is unperturbed and paying no attention to the development of this road.
Will Kallamundkur and Aikala panchayat administration pay any attention to the miseries, troubles and pains of the people of this area? Will the state government or the central government representatives come out from their slumber to the welfare of the people who are commuting daily in this dusty road? Can the dream of 'Acche Din' become a reality for this part of the world? Questions are many and only time will answer them.
