3-year-old assaulted by school supervisor in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 21 (DHNS): The supervisor of a private nursery school in Bellandur in Bengaluru East was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl on the school premises on Friday.

The situation turned ugly on Monday when a large number of parents gathered on the school campus, seeking action against the suspect and enhance security for their children.

Bellandur police rushed to the school and arrested the suspect, identified as Manjunath, under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. A holiday was declared at the school.

Manjunath lured the victim into accompanying him to the toilet where he sexually assaulted her, according to the complaint.?When the girl came home, she was extremely upset. She started weeping when her parents asked her the reason. Later, she told them that Manjunath had tortured her in the toilet and hurt her private parts.

The parents were shocked to hear the child’s ordeal. They took her to a nearby hospital for treatment. The medical report is yet to come.

The situation turned tense as hundreds of parents gathered at the school on Monday when the news spread. They said that the school management was trying to protect Manjunath by hushing up the matter.

They also said that school principal Veena had prevented parents from approaching the police. They charged that the assault took place due to Veena’s negligence.

A group of parents approached Bellandur police and lodged a complaint. The police summoned Veena to the police station for questioning. She was grilled over the delay in lodging a complaint.

The police also sought to know why she prevented the parents from lodging a complaint. Some parents suspect that Manjunath might have molested many children. Hence, he should be interrogated thoroughly.

The police said Manjunath was working with the school for the last three years. It is not known if the school management had verified Manjunath’s antecedents.

The police have directed the school management to ensure the children’s safety and thoroughly verify the staff’s antecedents to prevent such incidents in future.

Govt must pass immediate notice to all nursery schools strictly appoint only ladies, otherwise cancel their license, why a school as a nursery and crush schools male teacher or supervisor required ? to molest or rape? Our laws and actions are poor and will remain weak another century,

just remove nails for all the fingers for molesters in public, and to be telecasted in all tv channels this will bring change.

Its high time strict laws are enforced to protect the female population in our country. I think all other development in the country should be considered secondary - whats the use of any development when even little innocent kids are also not spared.

Poor little , she'll carry the scars of this assault for life. My heart goes out to her and her parents. We can only rely on the power of prayer and of counseling to heal her and her family as much as they possibly can, and the rule of the Law to ensure that she receives justice.

hang this rapist in public and give life prison to |Veena who is a shame in the name of ladies. I think she knew about the issue and is supporting the culprit. Hence Veena should be considered as partner of Veena and subected to dismissal from job and imprsonment.

... But certainly not the ones like Veena... who are a curse to womankind. My opinion would be to hang Veena first.

Disgusting woman. She ought to be ashamed to call herself a woman

When a child left alone with a pervert adult then his wild side will pop up & he/she will try to take advantage of her/his innocence!

Though most of the time, it's a person known to family like relatives, neighbors, friends who molest a child but also unsupervised schools are vulnerable too!!!

Unless the perpetrator & school are given sever punishment & penalty, sexual assaults will continue..

Dear Anita, how would you know about peverts, how many peverts have you come across. Do you mean to say that people are fine in Mangalore & that they have no pevrsion in any skewed way & that it is only upon landing in Bombay they become peverts. There are peverts of all kinds of fetish & there are peverts who get a Hit everytime, when they leave comments that defy logic & make prposterous claims about subjects that they are ill informed . ha , ha

Its the people who are pervert, corrupt and disgusting. why do we involve political parties / locations.
Stop the blame game and hold people responsible for their actions and give them severe punishment to deter future rapists. Laws should be amended accordingly.

    So do I... Mr Shetty.

And here one person (gm) writes that only females should be employed. But what if the females are like Veena. The very idea is frightening.

Anyway I remember a Rajesh Khanna song:
Mazhdaar mein nayya dole tho maaji paar lagaaye
Maaji jo naav duboye use kaun bachaye

(When the boat is about to drown the boatman will try his best to save it.
But when the boatman himself drowns the boat who can save it?
