Mangaluru, Jan 15: An interactive session by Dr M R Ravi, KAS, CEO of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat was held at Expert PU College, Valachil for the students of I PUC.
Introducing the chief guest to the gathering Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert, said that several interactive sessions are being held in the college by achievers such as Dr M R Ravi in order to provide motivational impetus to the students. He also expressed his gratefulness to the chief guest for accepting his invitation to address the students.
At the very outset, Dr M R Ravi, a former teacher, journalist and an ardent lover of art lauded the commendable efforts of Prof Narendra L Nayak and Ushaprabha N Nayak for having built such a wonderful institution as Expert for shaping the personality and career of thousands of young minds.
In his hour-long enlightening address to the students, he cited the examples of Swami Vivekananda and Dr A P J Abdul Kalam and urged the students to be inspired by their life and teachings. He also advised the students to continue the pursuit of study of new things throughout life and not to come to the conclusion at any point of time that they have achieved great things because there is always an option that even the best can be better. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he said, "We are the makers of our destiny and we can achieve it through hard work and not by miracles."
He asked the students to take pride in the rich cultural legacy of India. "We should not make futile attempts of changing the world, rather we ourselves have to change," he said. He insisted that one should become a good human being besides becoming a great professional and education must help an individual to become a good human being. The chief guest also answered the curious and enthusiastic questions of the students.
Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Ankush N Nayak, AICE faculty and an alumnus of Expert PU College and Dr N K Vijayan, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil were present.
Ushaprabha N Nayak presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of gratitude and respect.
Ayesha Mahreen of I PU student proposed the vote of thanks while Pruthvi, a faculty of physics welcomed the dignitaries and compered the programme.
