Mumbai, Dec 9 (IANS): England were bowled out for 400 runs in their first innings on the second day of the fourth cricket Test match against India here on Friday.
A resilient Jos Buttler (76) guided them to mark at the Wankhede Stadium post lunch. He was given company by Jake Ball. They put on 54 runs for the ninth wicket.
Resuming at their overnight score of 288/5, Buttler struck the crucial half century to pull England towards a decent first innings score. He was unbeaten on 64, accompanied by Jake Ball (29 batting) at lunch.
India's premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (6-112) picked up his 23rd five-wicket haul in Tests, His spin partner Ravindra Jadeja (4-109) snared the remaining wickets.
