'Amchi Mathi Amchi Monsham'
'Amchi Mathi Amchi Monsham', came to a close after 104 successful episodes. It is one of its kind in the Konkani television history which talks about the struggle, experiences and contributions of notable personalities of Konkani community who are achievers in their own right in their respective fields. The show stood on three parameters that is Contribution, Motivation and a Message to the global Konkani speaking community.
The show was hosted by famous master of ceremony and versatile artiste, Leslie Rego. Being an artiste himself and well known in the Konkani community, Leslie tried to bring out the lives of very well known personalities. For his unique style of hosting he has been highly appreciated by the global Konkani speaking audience. The show completed 104 episodes with famous and successful personalities.
Speaking to Daijiworld.com, host of the show, Leslie Rego, shared his thoughts and experience of hosting the show and said, “I always wanted to host a show of this genre and Daijiworld TV provided the platform. The main aim of the show was to introduce great personalities from our community, and give a message and motivation to the younger generation. This show was a great experience. The guests were mainly chosen on merit of their contribution to the society along with the diverse backgrounds they belong to. To name a few, we invited guests from some of the unique trades like sculptors, snake catcher, some of the revolutionary people and many other people who have achieved in different fields and done great job silently without any publicity.”
“I have also touched upon very sensitive issues politely and without using harsh language. So that the entire fraternity gets a clear message. We have brought some revolutionary people. Since I happen to be an artiste myself and my line of activity is business, I had to dedicate lot of time on homework. Through this platform we have tried to clear the doubts people had about some issues, which may be the reason people have appreciated the show. The beauty of this show was all the guests were Konkani speaking that 102 catholics Konkani and two GSB Konkani speaking. We wanted to get many more GSB Konkani's but simultaneously there was another show going on for GSB's so we could not get more people from GSB community.”
“Since this show has lot of information and a good record, Walter Nandalike has proposed to get it out in the form of DVD so that the younger generation will benefit. We did this show with passion and not for monetary benefits mainly because we want our culture and language to be introduced to the society. This was the first Konkani programme in a Mangalore based Konkani channel where there are about five different shows going on at present.”
“The guests whom we had invited were really happy. We can classify them into two categories, ie, the people who are very well known and they would have even given interviews in other channels but they got the platform to share their experience in Konkani, and the other category comprising people whose achievements were not known to people. These people were really thankful since their efforts were recognized.”
“On the whole we got tremendous response from people. The global Konkani audiences loved the show and because of their support this show has earned popularity and become successful. I am really thankful to the audience for the respect which I got as an anchor through this show. It is an experience that is unique which I cannot express in words. Whenever we requested people to support for a cause people have wholeheartedly supported us. I thank Praveen Tauro for getting some of the guests. Walter Nandalike, Melvyn Rodrigues, Hemacharya and CGS Thakode have also helped me with their valid inputs.”
'Do Re Mi Fa'
'Do Re Mi Fa', happens to be a show that peeps into the lives of many Konkani singers as well some Konkani lyricists and music composers by interviewing them and getting insight into their personal, professional life and their struggle to be successful singers. It was a treat to Konkani music lovers and an inspirational experience for younger generation. By interviewing many veteran and young singers and composers, Daijiworld TV created a file on record which will help the younger generation to know about the initial contributors of Konkani music.
The show was hosted by famous master of ceremony, Jude Noronha, who has to his credit successful hosting of a large number of ceremonies, music nights of established Konkani singers and many other occasions for the past 18 years. This show being his first attempt to host a TV show, it entirely goes to his credit that he hosted it exceptionally well. It was a light hearted show which celebrates the life of an artiste. At the same time, it encourages young talents to get into the arena of Konkani music. The show was coordinated by Ashith Pinto and Praveen Tauro who left no stone unturned to get in maximum number of artistes on the show. Knowing very little about Konkani music both have given their hundred percent to make the show successful.
The show, apart from getting insight into lives and achievements of prominent personalities in Konkani music, also made a collection of famous numbers sung by these singers and aired them with their respective episodes which amounts up to 200 music numbers altogether. The show has not only entertained the audience but also refreshed the memories of audiences, provided the info about the artistes and also gave a boost to the artistes by increasing their fan base in the global Konkani audience.
Daijiworld TV, through this show, provided a platform to all the Konkani singers and composers to narrate their journey in the field of Konkani music. With the help of social media it has reached across the globe with large number of clicks and likes. The entire show was edited by Narayan Raj, who is well-known for exemplary editing of prestigious shows on Daijiworld television.
Speaking to Daijiworld.com, host of the show, Jude Noronha, shared his joy and success of the show and said, "I was really happy when i was offered to host this show. But there was a sense of nervousness in the first episode since facing the camera was new to me. Though I had compered many events and ceremonies, hosting a TV show that too with great singer like Claud D'souza in the first episode was a challenge. Coordinators Ashith and Praveen have done a great job throughout the show. They were the ones who invited these famous personalities and also helped in preparing questions."
"Narayan Raj has done exceptionally good job in editing the episodes. Apart from this, Melvyn Rodrigues, who is a scholar in Konkani language, helped us with his valuable suggestions and feedback throughout the show. People always asked me about the introduction part in which I described the village culture. Let me say, i come from village background so it is in me, i have lived and experienced the village environment. It would be wrong on my part if i do not mention Roshan Crasta and Wilson Kateel here, they have supported a lot."
"I thank the audience. They have appreciated my job and given positive response. The audience themselves have given a tag line to me 'Do Re Me Fa Jude'. I am not the only person responsible for the success of this show, the entire team comprising Ashith, Praveen, Narayan, Melvyn and myself have made this show successful."
Speaking to Daijiworld.com, coordinators, Praveen Tauro and Ashith, lauded the host,Jude Noronha and said, "Jude has done a great job in hosting this show. His dedication and hard work is the main reason for this success. He has selflessly worked for the success of this show. We have tried our best so that all the artistes could be bought on the show, even though due to various reasons some could not make it here. We are thankful to all the artistes from Mumbai and coastal Karnataka who were part of the show."
