Mysuru: Lorry-KSRTC bus collision - five die, eight suffer injuries

Mysuru, Oct 27: After a Karnataka State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus and a lorry got involved in a collision near Madhugiri Koplu village near Hunsur in the district on Wednesday, October 26, five persons lost their lives and eight others suffered injuries of various degrees.

The bus in question was moving towards Bengaluru from Virajpet in Kodagu, while the truck was bound towards Hunsur with a load of rice from Andhra Pradesh. Due to the impact of the accident, bus driver, conductor, a passenger, as well as driver and cleaner of the truck died on the spot. Out of eight injured, police said, the condition of one remains critical.

The deceased have been identified as Sadashiva (39) from Guduganahalli in Mandya district, who was driving the bus, conductor, Devaraj (31) from Harihara taluk in Davanagere district, retired tax officer, Punacha (61) from Balugodu in Virajpet taluk, who was a passenger in the bus, Anju (30) from M M Halli in Anantpur district, Andhra Pradesh, who was the truck driver, and cleaner, Ramanjaneyulu (29), native of Pinare village in Guntur district.
