Kuwait, Jan 1: Tulukuta Kuwait held its annual general meeting at Indian Community School Kuwait recently, to elect the new committee for the year 2008.
The AGM started with devotional song by Suresh Salian. This was followed by lighting of traditional lamp by the outgoing management committee members.
Later, the general secretary A K Ravindra presented a report on the activities organized during the year 2007, and the annual financial report was presented by Tulukoota Kuwait treasurer Govind Babu.
This was followed by the felicitation of Ramesh Bhandary for his excellent contribution towards the facelift of Tulukoota Kuwait website, Chandrahasa Shetty for extensive contribution towards renewal of membership, Carres D'souza, talent of the year, Kalabhavan Dance Academy artists and all Tulukoota Kuwait artists and volunteers contributing towards success of "Tuluparba 2007"..
The election of the new management committee was conducted very smoothly by the returning officer Helen Pinto.
The management committee members being elected unanimously are Satish Chandra Shetty as a president, Swarna C Shetty as a vice-president, Dhiraj Shetty as a general secretary, Sathyanarayan as a joint secretary, Mark Pinto as a treasurer, Yadunath Alva as an internal auditor, Harish Bhandary as a culture secretary, Ramesh Kidiyoor as a sports secretary, Pascal Pinto as a welfare officer and Freeda Rodrigues as a public relations officer.
The newly elected members were invited for their self introduction. President Satishchandra Shetty in his speech expressed his thanks to the outgoing committee members for making Tulukoota Kuwait as successful as it is today.
He welcomed the newly elected members of the management committee and assured that they aimed to continue the good work in networking, enriching and bonding the rich culture and people of Tulunadu.
The cultural activities presented by Tulukoota Kuwait child artists and volunteers, enthralled the audience. Tasty dinner served by Oriental Restaurant was perfectly enjoyed by the attendees. The programme was beautifully hosted by Pundarikaksha.
