Raichur, Sep 25: The teacher of a private school who had pushed three students into a well for unruly behaviour in school, has been handed life term by a local court. He also has been fined Rs 25,000 for this heinous act in which a girl had lost her life.
Ramanna, who was earlier serving a private school at Neeramanvi in Manvi taluk of the district, was sentenced to life term. On November 20, 2010, Ramanna had pushed three students into a well near the school as punishment for ruckus. Locals had immediately jumped into action and brought all the three out of the well. However, by then, one of the children, Gagana (5), had lost her life. A case about the incident was registered in Manvi police station.
Policemen who investigated the case, had filed charge sheet in the court. After the hearing which lasted for nearly six years, the first additional special court judge, Mahadevaiah, pronounced verdict in the case.
